Welcome to TechOne!


Welcome. TechOne is SIAT's first year where you'll learn the basics of our unique programme. As you may have read, SIAT merges technology, design and humanities in a pragmatic combination that serves such diverse fields as interactive design, computational media, informatics, visual analytics and other allied interdisciplinary specialties. Our goal is to build a foundation for you to make good use of faculty, your peers/classmates and the community (through co-op and special projects) as essential parts of your SIAT experience. We believe strongly in teamwork, believing that group work often trumps individual effort in the scale and quality of projects and exercises done. So use well your foundation year to meet faculty, classmates and visiting experts from the community. We know SIAT's methods improve the quality and enjoyment of learning. We also know that the broad, interdisciplinary skill sets you will learn have maximum success with this active sense of community.
